Opportunities
Our volunteer opportunities include:
Girls Inc Center at Berry Elementary
- Tutoring girls ages 5-12 years of age
- Mentoring—3 week commitment
- Arts and Crafts Instructors to teach girls fun and creative ways to express themselves
- Dance Instructors (Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, etc.—6 week commitment)
- General assistance/observation
- Coaching sports teams—6 week commitment
- Experienced cook to show girls how to make fun recipes without actually cooking—no microwave oven required
Tarrant County Kids
- Make copies of letters and flyers to assemble into packets to distribute to all teachers of grades K-6 at all 9 schools that we serve
- Assist with registration for summer child care
- Field Trip assistants— Usually from 1:00-3:00 p.m. weekdays. 3-4 trips per week during summer Adventure Camp. Duties include: Extra eyes on the pool, transporting children’s lunches, perform routine head counts, monitor doors/exits, general duties as assigned by the Director
- Customer Service Correspondence—people with nice handwriting to send out Thank You letters/postcards to customers
- Other general office work and assistance to the Director of Tarrant County Kids
Business Office (Weekdays)
- Answering a multi-line phone, shredding, filing, faxing, copying
- Assist parents with childcare payments
- Assisting with bulk mailings
- Assisting with miscellaneous projects
- Grounds keeping at Matlock and New York offices once a week (professionals only please)
Special events (Sometimes on evenings and weekends)
- Registration
- T-Shirt Distribution
- Breakfast/Lunch set-up and clean up
- Room Monitors
- Hall Monitors
